On The Verge
Tonight is my last night in the United States. Tomorrow (at a RIDICULOUSLY early hour) I drive to the airport to take off on a 18-hour journey to Shanghai where I will join my cruise ship and begin my journey as a Stage Staff member of Royal Carribean. Many of my friends and family have asked if I'm excited.
To be quite honest, I am terrified.
It's one thing to go off to college, where family is still within easy reach, everyone is my age and the setting is still somewhat familiar. A Cruise ship is a tight-knit community that works together to provide a professional experience. Its technicians use top-of-the-line technology in carefully choreographed sequences designed to inspire awe and wonder.
I throw pretty colors around.
It's like a two year old comparing their fingerpainting to the Mona Lisa.
In all honesty, I'm excited. This is such a wonderful opportunity for me to expand my craft and experience in a workplace that allows me to travel the world (eventually!) I'm truly blessed.
And I'm too tired to think of any more coherent and thought-provoking processes.
I have to get up at 3. I'm going to bed.
Have a good night Travelers! See you all in Shanghai!
